Energy Balance Calculator

Total mass of the system
Specific heat capacity of the material
Starting temperature
Target temperature
Rate of heat addition
Rate of heat loss

Calculation Explanation

This calculator performs a basic energy balance. Total energy change required is calculated by multiplying the mass, specific heat capacity, and the difference between final and initial temperatures. Net heat rate is the heat input rate minus the heat loss rate. The time needed for the temperature change is the total energy change divided by the net heat rate. If net heat rate is zero or negative, the time is infinite/not applicable.
