Residence Time Calculator

Volumetric flow rate of the fluid entering the reactor
Target conversion percentage of the reactant
Order of the reaction kinetics
Kinetic rate constant of the reaction

Calculation Explanation

This calculator determines key flow reactor parameters. Residence time is the average duration a fluid particle stays in the reactor. For a first-order reaction, it's calculated using the natural log of (1 - conversion), divided by the negative rate constant. Reactor volume is the volumetric flow rate multiplied by the residence time. Space time equals residence time for ideal CSTRs, and space velocity is the reciprocal of space time.
