Calculation Explanation

This page calculates the Reynolds number (Re), a dimensionless quantity indicating flow type (laminar, transitional, or turbulent). It's calculated by multiplying fluid density, velocity, and pipe diameter, then dividing by the dynamic viscosity. The kinematic viscosity (dynamic viscosity divided by density) is also calculated.
